Privacy Rule
PHI is defined as individually identifiable demographic information that relates to an individual’s past, present or future physical or mental health or condition.  The Riverside County Department of Mental Health is committed to the protection of client information at all times.

Transaction and Code Set Rule
The HIPAA Transaction and Code Set Rule standardized billing practices across the country to ensure consistency. 

Security Rule
The HIPAA Security Rule defines standards, procedures and methods for the security of electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI).  Riverside University Health System – Behavioral Health has implemented an electronic health record system in compliance with federal mandates, and has established various safeguards to ensure the protection of client privacy.
