MHSA Innovation Project

Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) Field Response Project

On January 30, 2009, the State Department of Mental Health released the Guidelines for the final MHSA Component - Innovation.  The Innovation Guidelines allow counties to apply for funds on a project-by-project basis without submitting a plan for the entire planning estimate.  The Department has previously submitted five other Innovation Projects and is now proposing a sixth project.  Following an extensive Community Planning Process, Riverside County is submitting a proposal to fund a Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) Field Response Project through the Innovation Component.

The Department is requesting a total of $6.2 million over five years for the CSEC Field Response Innovation Project, which includes funding for Project implementation, county administration, and operating reserve.
